Optimizing precision

Evolve’s build quality allows for high-precision results. However, to fully utilize its potential, it’s crucial to possess the requisite knowledge and follow the correct sequence of operations.

Limitations and solutions

Evolve can handle most ski bindings and boot combinations, but there are extreme cases where it may not be suitable. For instance, particular bindings paired with large boots or ski bindings with uncommon hole patterns may not fit. Nonetheless, there are sometimes ways to work around these restrictions.

Serviceable design

A product engineered to endure should embody specific qualities to enhance its longevity and user-friendliness. These key attributes include effortless maintenance, simple calibration, and the capability to replace damaged parts. We designed Evolve to grant users complete control in handling these aspects.

Features

Clamping mechanism

This essential component ensures the self-centering of the jig on the ski while securely holding it in place. Its threaded rod rotates on bearings, providing smooth movement and a snug closure. The clamping action is executed by four stainless steel pins, guaranteeing exceptional durability and precision.

Center indicator

The role of this component is to align the center of the boot with the designated mounting point on the ski. Its adjustability enables it to be brought closer to both reading points, simplifying and increasing accuracy in the alignment process.

Hardened drill bushes

Bushings fit a standard 8 mm diameter drill bit. They are made of hardened and ground alloy steel rated 60-62 HRC, ensuring excellent resistance to wear and consistent results over time. Bushes holders are interchangeable between two side holes and one center hole.

Alignment scale

A distinctive diamond-patterned graduated scale serves as a reliable guide for precise centering of the binding. Simply make sure that both sides show the same reading, and always double-check to avoid any significant errors.

Parts organizer case

The functionality of Evolve involves the use of numerous small parts. For this reason, we have included a convenient wooden case that keeps these parts organized, streamlining the setup process and ensuring every component is within easy reach.

WHO IS IT FOR

Investing in Evolve can quickly pay for itself, especially for ski workshops that cannot afford to buy multiple jigs. But our experience has taught us that even owning a vast range of mounting jigs, there will always be that ski binding for which you don’t have the right one. With Evolve, you can feel confident that you can handle any ski binding that comes your way. Evolve is primarily designed for professionals but may also interest skiers who prefer mounting bindings themselves. However, we recommend it only for those who have the required knowledge and practical experience in manual work.
